When you see the world as we do, you see the chance to help the world take better care of its resources and help it become a better place for everyone. It’s why we’re looking for someone who sees the world in a similar way, to take up an exciting Communication Education and Outreach role in our Outreach team.
Because of our responsibility when it comes to leading change, resourcing takes every single one of us, and this is how you can play your part. And if you’re keen to see the difference you can make in your community, this role will suit you perfectly.
It doesn’t matter if you’re looking to overhaul the industry, or just do a good day’s work. We know that everyone here at Veolia can help us work alongside our communities, look after the environment, and contribute to our inclusive culture.
What will you be doing?
We are looking for a creative communicator with project management experience who wants to get people talking about climate issues and help us manage resident engagement with the vital waste services we deliver.
As the Education, Communication and Outreach Officer, you will have a unique opportunity to use your exemplary communication skills to research, develop and deliver projects to help improve recycling rates and make a real impact. You will promote effective recycling and responsible environmental behaviours to communities across the South London Waste Partnership, and build relationships with local residents and stakeholders.
You will be responsible for a major project to carry out an audit of certain households to determine their waste arrangements, as well as for communicating with residents to solve issues and inform them of any changes to their recycling and waste services. You will deliver face-to-face community engagement activities to achieve project goals. This could include identifying target groups and developing appropriate strategies to deliver key messages, delivering community events, and door-knocking target areas.
You will be passionate about improving recycling and reducing waste, and keen to apply behaviour change theories to deliver impactful campaigns. You will also support operational teams to determine the best waste collection service for residents and carry out projects as appropriate.
We are looking for an energetic all-rounder with great written and verbal communication skills, an interest in environmental issues, and a willingness to learn new skills. To be successful in the role you will also need a can-do attitude and great people skills. If you want to apply your communication skills to something that really matters, this is the job for you.
This is a six month position with the potential to extend into a full time position.
What are we looking for?
To be successful in the role you will also need a can-do attitude and great people skills. If you want to apply your communication skills to something that really matters, this is the job for you.
