The opportunity

This role is responsible for planning, building, supporting, and maintaining all Cloud based, Virtualised technologies and associated core infrastructure applications, and will also play an integral part to train and coach junior members of the team.

The position holds significant technical responsibilities for managing GWW’s Cloud infrastructure for a majority of GWW Systems. It is critical to contributing to security and redundancy IT strategies to provide secure and reliable services to our internal stakeholders and customers. This role plays a key part in GWW’s roadmap and increased adoption of Cloud solutions. This role will be required to collaborate with core business areas, vendors and IT stakeholders.

Duties

• Advise, design and support in deployment of applications on the cloud
• Be a subject matter expert responsible for the health and performance of GWW’s cloud computing base
• Use Microsoft framework related scripting tools and languages for automatic deployments and configuration of machines with proper allocation of resources in Azure
• Provide fit for purpose solutions and support for all project and new digital solutions (e.g. Robots) that are/will be hosted in Azure. This also requires a good understanding of the integration services (API, iPAAS) built on the cloud
• Create and maintain system documentation for Azure and Microsoft 365 technologies in scope, including installation, configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps.

Skills & Experience

• Experience in cloud migrations and operations, Azure Infrastructure, Windows Servers, Microsoft 365, VMware, Windows Virtual Desktop Infrastructure technologies and environment.
• Experience in using Microsoft framework related Powershell commands for system task automation, configuration management and deployment using CI/CD pipeline.
• Ability to understand customer requirements and develop efficient and cost-effective solutions using cloud computing services
• Tertiary qualification(s) in business, computing and/or relevant experience
• Certified Azure Administrator or equivalent

Advanced expertise in;

• Troubleshooting skills and expertise in IT incident, problem diagnosis and resolution
• Microsoft Active Directory and core services (DNS/DHCP/Certificates/Group Policy/File & Print)
• VMware environments (ESXi/vSphere/VUM)

Intermediate expertise in;

• Networking concepts (switching/routing/VLANs)
• Web application concepts (IIS/TLS/Load Balancing)
• Cloud computing – PAAS, IAAS SAAS
• ITIL framework
