Combined Insurance Hiring for UWC Underwriter at United States Full Time

Position Responsibilities:

This position supports Chubb Commercial Insurance renewal operations by delivering underwriting profit and exceptional customer service to our producer partners and insureds.

The underwriter will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating renewal accounts in accordance with established underwriting guidelines. In this role specifically, the underwriter will focus on the renewal review of our Benchmarq product and associated lines of coverage written for the account (Auto, Workers Compensation and Umbrella Coverages). The underwriter will ultimately manage a portfolio of between 350-400 policies within the various Industry Practices utilizing the BMQ product. The underwriter will be responsible for developing strong relationships with independent agents and brokers in order to successfully manage our business which may require travel to assigned territory. The candidate must be able to work effectively and collaborate with a team of underwriters and underwriting associates, claims and loss control personnel. The Candidate will help BMQ and Underwriting Center leadership drive best practices for executing on BMQ renewals in the underwriting center environment.

Competencies/Technical Skills:

• Proven ability to successfully negotiate on all levels and develop producer relationships
• Demonstrate ability to analyze risks, prioritize the gathering of underwriting data, and clearly communicate a well thought out underwriting approach
• Excellent communication and documentation skills required
• Ability to work independently, show initiative, while demonstrating strong collaboration skills in a team environment
• Strong time and desk management skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software

Education/Experience:

• Two to five years of commercial insurance underwriting experience and specifically CIS and TIS is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
