Job Summary
The Administrative & Foundation Assistant is a member of the Administration (Admin) Department at Community Roots Housing and will support both the Admin and Foundation departments with an approximate 30/70 split of time.
The Community Roots Housing Admin Department is made up of three other staff members, responsible for the seamless running of office operations and administrative support of the entire PDA organization. Community Roots Housing is a public development authority (PDA), which means it is a public corporation created by the City of Seattle for a particular purpose – in our case, that is working in affordable housing and community development. This includes organizing all staff meetings and events, supporting the Leadership Team members, scheduling meetings, supporting accounting with internal control functions, and cross-departmental collaboration to ensure the organization functions well. This position will work closely with the Accounting Department, Leadership Team and support the Admin Department in many of its’ above stated duties. This role will provide general accounting, office coordination and administrative support.
The Community Roots Housing Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity mobilizing funds for Community Roots Housing and their designated partners, co-located, and functionally integrated with Community Roots. The Foundation raises approximately $1 million annually to support Community Roots’ operations and programs and is also the backbone organization for a $45 million collaborative capital campaign, currently in its 4th year. Organizational communications are also housed within the Foundation department. In their role supporting the Foundation staff, the Admin & Foundation Assistant will undertake administrative and data entry work to support fund development, communications, finance, and daily operations. They will support the Foundation in the long-term goal to transform our fundraising model from charity to justice, centering racial equity and our residents in all that we do.
The Admin & Foundation Assistant will report to the Senior Operations Manager on the Admin Department, and will work closely under the task supervision of the Senior Events & Operations Manager on the Foundation Team.
This position will be required to work in our main office at least two days a week (due to the specific job duties of the role), and two to three days a week may be worked remotely. In-person days may be required as needed outside of the regular schedule to support in-person meetings. A general hybrid schedule and details will be agreed upon at hiring.
