About the role and who we are looking for:

At Compass Group we have partnered with Air New Zealand as one team to create an incomparable lounge experience that people value and remember and as such, we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team at the Air New Zealand Lounge at Wellington Airport. Hours of work are Full Time, rostered across 7 days.

You will be responsible for:

In this position you will be responsible for making cakes, desserts and baking for large functions.

Ideal skills and experience you will have:

We are seeking a hands-on chef who can use their energy, expertise and skills to ensure a superior quality of service at all times. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will be organised and calm, with an eye for detail. You must be able to follow recipes, have attention to detail and work with speed. You will be working both as part of a team and independently. A real passion for high quality food is a must for this role!

In addition to the above you will be hard working, reliable and flexible, with a friendly, outgoing personality, and a ‘can do’ attitude. You will have the relevant industry qualifications and a minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a Pastry Chef in a comparable environment. Ideally you will hold food safety Unit Standard 167.
