An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced M&A specialist to join a leading consulting firm as they expand their Deals Advisory presence across the New Zealand market.

As Associate Director, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end M&A processes, from target identification to deal closure.
• Oversees M&A project management processes including due diligence, financial planning, Information Memorandum drafting, scoping, closing, and integration.
• Working in tandem with the Partners and Directors and leading a team of M&A specialists to ensure the M&A functional area meets all objectives pertaining to quality, compliance, regulations, productivity, customer service, budget, and project management.
• Foster relationships with key players in the industry, financial institutions, and potential partners.
• Drive post-merger integration initiatives to ensure seamless transitions.
• Business development focus to develop new client relationships through relationship management with key business introducers and existing client base to maximise further opportunities.
• Uphold the firm’s code of ethics and business conduct.

To be considered for this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• 5-8+ years of extensive experience in corporate development, M&A, finance, professional services, investment banking, or private equity.
• Proven track record in successfully managing M&A transactions on an end-to-end basis.
• Strong analytical and advanced financial modelling skills
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to develop meaningful partnerships with both internal and external teams.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of associates.
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and other functional areas of the Group.
