A leading civil infrastructure company is in search of an experienced Commercial Manager to become part of their team for a permanent position on a project located in Marlborough, New Zealand. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of commercial activities related to project delivery.

Main Duties

• Maintain registers of variations and claims, delays, instructions, etc.
• Manage, develop and oversee the implementation of financial and commercial strategies.
• Put together claims and variations and provide notices where necessary.
• Preparation of all monthly management accounts and quarterly re-forecasts.
• Manage Procurement activities.
• Balance sheet control including ensuring all the balance sheet reconciliations are completed.
• Ensure compliance with all procurement policies and procedures.
• Maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure contract compliance.
• Management feedback on issues both real and anticipated.
• Report and provide general commercial support.
• Contract analysis and review.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 10+ years experience in the Civil Infrastructure industry
• Experience working with D&C or maintenance contracts
• Previous experience with a reputable Main Contractor
• Experience with both contractual and commercial management
• Strong abilities in handling claims and variations are highly desirable
• Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Law, or Commercial Management
• Ideal candidates will exhibit qualities such as ambition and motivation
• Proficiency in problem-solving and the ability to perform well under pressure are important attributes
• The candidate should be capable of working effectively in both team and independent settings
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this role

Benefits:

• Attractive salary package of $160k-$180k + car (negotiable dependent on your skills and experience)
