Te Tākinatanga | Our Story
At Te Mata Hiko (Contact Energy), we believe home is the most important place in the world. It’s all part of our vision to leave Aotearoa better than we found it. We’re a power and broadband company, but we’re so much more than that. We are transforming the ways we mahi, and how Aotearoa is powered, leading the charge on renewable energy and digitising customer journeys in ways not yet seen here. A team of 1000+ from all walks of life who love what we do, look out for each other, and learn from one another every day, we’re stoked to be guided by our tikanga: we touch lives to make life better.
Part of that transformation is to build the best Procurement team in Aotearoa. If that sounds bold, it’s because it is.
We created a new role last year for a Head of Strategic Contracting & Procurement to introduce an enterprise-wide strategic focus across C&P. Initially, we wanted the role to act like a consultant, assessing our C&P maturity and ability before making a recommendation on how to manage over the longer term. That upfront mahi has been done and found what we knew would be the case: we need change. As part of our Procurement transformation, we’ve created seven new roles, including this one as eProcurement Catalogue Administrator.
Job Description
Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role
We want to contract and automate all our spending through e-procurement, making supplier engagement easy for our internal customers. As eProcurement Catalogue Administrator, you’ll be the person who keeps this ticking over and running smoothly by keeping the catalogues up to date, making any necessary improvements, and training and supporting end-users to ensure they can navigate the catalogues and find what they need.
Before we get there, we’ll need policies and procedures for managing the catalogues, including processes for adding and removing products and services. You’ll get to create those, as well as working with suppliers to make sure their products and services are properly listed. You’ll also work with the Strategic Sourcing team to create and maintain a preferred supplier list and analyse data related to the catalogue’s usage, pricing, and supplier performance.
Qualifications
Ko wai koe | About you
This role would be awesome for anyone with a buying background, especially if you’ve come from an industrial environment. If you’ve created eProcurement catalogues before, even better. At the very least you’ll need knowledge of material classification and codification standards and proficiency using procurement software and tools. (An understanding of SAP, particularly the MM module, would be a big plus.)
But that’s just the work stuff. Beyond that, you’re a team player with keen attention to detail who loves working at pace and has stellar initiative and time management skills. You’re full of ideas, comfy reaching out to people when you need to know something, and have the ability to bring others on the journey with you.
Additional Information
There are a bunch of perks to being a permanent Contact kaimahi. Along with great people, development, and growth and progression opportunities, you’ll enjoy flexible working (where, when and how works best for you), free health insurance cover, better-than-your-average leave, access to Contact Shares, a ‘Good to be Home’ annual payment toward your home set up & wellbeing, a trail-blazing parental leave policy, discounts on Contact Energy products, and more.
We’re excited to take Procurement to the next level and this role is key to its momentum so if this sounds like a bit of you, apply now, or if there’s something you’re curious to know before making it official, contact Tash on [email protected].
Please note, only candidates with the right to live and work in New Zealand will be considered for this role.
Research shows that while men apply to jobs where they meet 60% of the criteria, women and those in underrepresented groups tend to only apply if they tick every box. We’re not about box ticking, so if you think you have what it takes but don’t meet everything stated above, please still get in touch. We’d love to kōrero.
