This position is responsible for ensuring the overall management of maintenance, and planning for the 737 fleet. This position will report to the Director of Maintenance in Canada and the US, and also directs a small Tech Records and Maintenance planning team daily to ensure accurate and appropriate maintenance procedures are followed. This position will also review Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins and create action plans to ensure compliance with the AD and SB. We are looking for a person that has made a career as a “Can Do” problem solver willing to work with a fast-paced team of like-minded people.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Planning– Help develop Aircraft Maintenance work scopes and build work packages. Working with the planning department to establish bi-annual heavy maintenance checks in full detail ensuring all necessary tools and materials are on-site, the required personnel will be present and all paperwork is completed for each check. The Fleet Manager is also responsible for monitoring that the plan is being followed and to adjust as required to ensure completion of plan is on schedule and within budget.
Fleet Management – Responsible for crew scheduling and monitoring, identifying inventory requirements and liaising with Stores Dept to ensure appropriate tooling and parts are ordered. Be aware of all technical training requirements and work with appropriate departments to develop training as needed. Take immediate action when aircraft is AOG by communicating with personnel on ground and develop an action plan to resolve the situation
Interdepartmental Liaising – Maintain open lines of communication with various departments and individuals within the organization, such as technical records, maintenance planning, and stores to ensure that the operational needs of the fleet are being met. You will be working with a small team, dedicated to the 737 program to start building processes for long term goals.
Quality Management– Ensure that regulatory and company standards are being met for maintenance, compliance, quality, and record keeping. Working with your team to update the MSG-3 program when required. Then incorporating the new and emerging inspection requirements to ensure the highest standards are being met.
Compliance Management– Identify compliance issues that require follow up or investigation, communicate emerging compliance issues to management and employees, file appropriate compliance records with regulatory agencies, when necessary, maintain documentation of compliance activities such as complaints received or investigation outcomes.
Requirements:
15+ years of maintenance experience
10+ years of experience performing maintenance on 737 aircraft
A Balance of MRO and Line Maintenance experience necessary
Transport Canada Certified 737 course
FAA A&P License preferred
Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations. Knowledge of US Regulations an asset
Proficient in the use of Boeing publications and how to navigate them.
Reading an interpreting Boeing AD’s and Service Bulletins for applicability is a must.
Checking and verifying past compliance data.
Familiar with Aircraft Maintenance Tracking programs
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
This position will be based on Vancouver Island in Port Alberni, BC but will require some travel to the field locations which could be anywhere in the world.
