Coulson Group Looking for Security Guard at Port Alberni, BC Full Time

We are currently seeking a Security Guard for our Port Alberni locations. The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining security by guarding, patrolling, and monitoring the Coulson Group businesses in Port Alberni to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules. The Security Guard will be mobile and will monitor the locations of Coulson Aircrane, Coulson Tankerbase, Coulson Ice Blast, Chances RimRock, Esta Villa, Coulson HQ and other locations as requested.
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises. Circulate among visitors and employees to preserve order and protect property.
• Answer alarms and investigate disturbances. Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Patrol business premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
• Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, or machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering.

Requirements:

• 10+ years experience in a security or law enforcement role.
• Completed the basic security training course through the Justice Institute of BC or another accredited school or have served in a law enforcement capacity in Canada.
• 5+ years experience investigating incidents and providing suggestions to improve security.
• Obtain and maintain GPEB security clearance.
• Experience working with security monitoring systems and equipment.
• Proficient computer skills.
• First Aid certification.
• Maintain a clean criminal record and provide fingerprints under the Security Services Act.
