Mō te tūnga – About the role

In this Permanent Assistant Accountant role, you will get to enjoy working in a dynamic and fast paced business. Reporting into the Senior Accountant you will be responsible for:

• Preparation of monthly financial and management reports including monitoring of monthly job reports, revenue reports and monthly branch reporting models
• Identify reasons for variances to budget and forecast and communicate with branch managers on comments regarding variances
• Preparing monthly bank reconciliation
• Track and trace transactions to source
• Ownership of the Accounts Receivable function
• Clear suspense accounts
• Rollover, update financial folders into new month
• Preparation of monthly reporting for Board Reports
• Co-ordinate all company insurance requests and policies
• Preparing Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Assist in Annual Budget co-ordination and input
• Assist with Annual Audit requests
• Other adhoc requests from the Senior Finance team
• Prepare and file GST & FBT returns for the group
• Prepare the models for IFRS reporting

You will be part way through your CA or CPA and be ready to grow and expand your accounting expertise. This Assistant Accountant role is suitable for an experienced accountant who is already in a similar role where you are providing accurate monthly financial and management information as well as balance sheet reconciliations etc. You will love to be part of a great team culture and enjoy a down to earth business environment.
