Cummings, Keegan & Co., P.L.L.P. Hiring for Client Accounting Services Specialist at Remote Full Time

Position Overview

Cummings, Keegan, & Co., P.L.L.P., a mid-sized public accounting firm, is seeking a full-time and/or part-time Client Accounting Services (CAS) Specialist to join our firm! The CAS Specialist position provides exceptional service to our privately-held business clients by performing a variety of basic accounting tasks, including processing payroll, data entry, and financial statement processing. This position also strengthens client relationships through ongoing communication, often through email and video conferencing.

Qualified candidates will have basic accounting knowledge for data entry and demonstrated experience with financial statements, payroll, and sales tax processing. Ideal candidates will also have a considerable knowledge of QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop and other accounting software, including bank feed transaction processing, reconciliations, recording journal entries, and processing live and after the fact payroll.

Essential Functions

The essential functions of the CAS Specialist position are performed in a collaborative team environment with ongoing training and performance coaching from colleagues and supervisory staff.

Position responsibilities include:

• Journal entries.
• Account reconciliation.
• Recurring bookkeeping and month-end duties.
• Processing payroll and quarterly payroll returns.
• Effective use of various accounting and client-specific software.
• Delivery of timely and effective client communications and service.
• Consistent documentation and management of fluctuating priorities.
• Collaboration within the department and throughout the firm to accomplish workload.
• Categorizing and matching transactions within bank feeds module of QuickBooks Online.
• Payroll and sales tax deposit calculations and processing via MDNOR website and EFTPS.

Education & Experience

• Two (2) years applicable education or equivalent experience in bookkeeping duties for privately-held businesses, including payroll processing and tax filing, sales tax, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
• Experience using and applying accounting, mathematics, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office.
• Experience working in systems and continuous process improvement.
• Experience in a public accounting firm or bookkeeping consulting firm desired.
• Accountants World software experience and ProAdvisor certification preferred.

Schedule

Part-time or intermittent work assignments and full-time opportunities available with schedules during core hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Work Environment

Flexible work arrangement available onsite in Minnesota, remote, or hybrid. The onsite setting is a professional office environment with extensive use of standard office equipment and technology including computers, web-based and desktop phones, webcams, headsets, scanners, photocopiers, and software applications and programs.

• Intermittent movement to attend meetings and perform other office functions.
