Nau mai, Haere mai, we welcome you to join our whānau. We are on the lookout for a Librarian to join our Team. Previous experience as a Librarian is not essential however a passion for working with people to grow and develop a love for books and learning is a must. You will support literacy needs, provide resources for constructive use of leisure time, support educational initiatives and open pathways for reintegration and rehabilitation through our resources.
Auckland Prison provides library services directly to the people in our care. It is a constantly changing environment. Primary responsibilities will include;

You won’t necessarily be an experienced Librarian however you will have a passion for books and the experiences they can open an individual up to. You will be proactive in nature and quick to think outside the square when it comes to engaging with people with varying literacy levels across diverse cultural needs and expectations.
The salary band for this position is $57,431 – $62,684
