The Opportunity | Te Whiwhinga Mahi
This 12 month fixed term (or secondment) opportunity has arisen due to staff moving internally. The Assessment Equity Adviser position manages support processes for students with disabilities sitting tests and exams under special conditions, manages applications for aegrotat and compassionate consideration, and processes late deletions to ensure equitable outcomes are available for all students. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates who have excellent communication and relationship building skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to work within and apply policy and regulations to current situations.
Working closely with students, Student Disability Services, Inclusive Learning, Campus Care, and staff within faculties, this role includes providing advice to students facing difficult circumstances, implementing and improving internal processes to ensure a seamless student experience, and partnering to work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the University to build a positive and equitable student journey. During exam periods, you will also work closely with special exam supervisors and invigilators including their recruitment, onboarding and training and help manage a small team of casual exam staff.
The salary range for this role is $54,700 – $68,200 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.

Reporting to the Assessment Services Manager, you will work closely with other members of the small, diverse and busy Assessment Services team to help deliver on its operational and strategic priorities, seamlessly delivering examination activities for the University and ensuring our students are well supported throughout.
He kōrero mōu | About you
As Assessment Equity Adviser, you will be a natural communicator, high performer and well organised. Great attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure are a must, alongside having a student-centric ethos. You will be managing high volumes of work for a number of different stakeholders and need to be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with others to deliver exceptional service for our students. You will need to have a resilient personality keeping in mind the student journey and educative responsibility of the role.
