Ngā kawenga | About the role

As the Adviser Protective Security, you will play a crucial role in ensuring Ara Poutama Aotearoa’s commitment to Protective Security Requirements. By providing ongoing support, advice, and training at all levels, you will ensure that we have appropriate and effective measures in place to protect New Zealand’s people, information, and assets.

Key responsibilities include supporting the implementation of Protective Security Requirements, contributing to the national security clearance vetting process, offering specialised security advice, and enhancing security capabilities. The role also involves collaborating with stakeholders, analysing threat levels, supporting investigations, and driving personal development for improved security competency. Additionally, the you will contribute to the annual Protective Security Requirements compliance reporting and help develop an assurance framework for continuous improvement.

To Be Successful With You Application You Will Have

• Experience in a relevant field such as security, investigation, management, HR, or intelligence.
• Understanding of relevant legislation, policy, and Cabinet requirements.
• Knowledge in the delivery of components of the Protective Security Requirements
• Experience in delivering pragmatic and commensurate subject matter skills and advice
• The ability to operate effectively in a Māori cultural setting
• Capability to develop and maintain strong working relationships internally and externally

This role requires travel on occasion, a Full New Zealand Driver Licence will be required.

Utu ā-tau | Salary

The midpoint of the salary range is $82,130 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $69,811 – $98,556 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
