Job Details

DESE Research, Inc. seeks a candidate to join an exciting and growing team focused on developing software products for the Missile and Space Intelligence Center (MSIC) in Huntsville, AL. These products are designed to improve analyst workflows and elevate their capabilities, using modern frameworks including the JavaScript library React and the Python data analysis libraries SciPy, and pandas.

The Junior Software Developer will work along other developers to design, develop, and help implement applications to help analysts extract, analyze, and display a variety of different data types from large data sets of raw data to aggregating SME conclusions.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a Top Secret DoD Security Clearance
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with concurrent goals and deadlines
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment, including government representatives and other contractors and companies
• Strength in converting design concepts into production level tools and capabilities
• Knowledge and understanding of web development concepts, networks, and Linux
• Experience with Python or JavaScript scripting languages
• Familiarity with Agile development process
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Required Education Qualifications

• Have or are pursuing bachelor’s in engineering, computer science, or equivalent technical field

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with web development frameworks such as Express or Django
• Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, or ArangoDB
• Familiarity with git, collaborative development, and version control
• Experience with software testing, both writing tests and executing them in a test framework
• Experience working with Department of Defense or intelligence agencies and systems
