A few reasons why we think you’d love working for Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology
Job Summary:
As a Software Engineer II, you will use your coding and data skills to write and test code that delivers enhancements and new features for our applications portfolio. You will be an important part of a motivated team where we’ll be looking for you to collaborate with multiple teams to help drive application architecture, code quality, and make sure we are building the right things for our users. We want someone that is proficient at working with Java/Kotlin to build web applications. The ideal candidate would possess skills in both server and client-side technology (RESTful Web Services, Node.js, and React), coupled with experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle. A plus would be experience with data streaming technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or SQS/SNS, orchestration and containerization platforms like Docker and Kubernetes, and No-SQL data stores like Elastic Search, Redis, and Memcache.
While The Walt Disney Company is a large company, this team operates somewhat like a U.S. startup. We strive to get things done quickly, with high quality, and we are committed to the agile methodology. Our work is guided by lean principles (looking at value and looking for waste; not doing anything ‘for the sake of doing it’).
We’re looking for a hard-working, and impactful engineer who wants to come here to do their best work and make their mark. Adding their chapter to the long and storied history of The Walt Disney Company. Someone who holds themselves and their teammates accountable in a professional, collaborative manner. A collaborative technologist who seeks to bring the best out in themselves and those around them. Someone who can provide a fresh perspective and innovative insight to our initiatives.
