Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Hiring for Catering Ops Specialist Job at Anaheim, CA Full Time

The Catering Ops Specialist is a support position that is responsible for assisting our leaders and chefs in a high volume multi banquets’ facility in Hotels. In this role, you will ensure efficient, accurate, and details processes & procedures are followed to ensure the banquets teams are set up for success to safeguard our brand. This role strives to deliver outstanding Guest service standards; and supports the banquet operation through Key Business Drivers while maintaining strong connection to the rich history and heritage of our Disney Hotels.

You will report to the Manager, Banquets

You Will (Responsibilities):

• Create and assemble Banquet “packets” for the next day
• Create pre packets for rescheduling and approval
• Create Menu cards, Door Cards, Specialized Drinks and other necessary signs
• Work as a centralized communication hub for banquet operations
• Keep track of multiple meetings/calendars for the managers as well as take calls from guests and cast
• Prepare for and attend Banquet Event Order Meetings, printing and uploading information up to 10 days in advance
• Process Last Minute Shifts changes after scheduling has left for the day
• Create Purchase Orders for ordering of supplies for the banquet operations team
• Work with outside vendors to request for equipment rentals, flowers, radios (for big events) and piano tuning
• Review Banquet Event Orders for possible errors or checking for special items requested that may need planning
• Prepare kitchen prep sheets for the chef and post them in the respective kitchens for cast to prepare food for events
• Create labels for the transport of food items
• Take notes on Meal Tasting for future use
• Continually refine office processes to help the office become as efficient as possible
• Send out event reporting to key hotel and resort partners as needed
• Assist with sending Gratuity report to payroll

Basic Qualifications:

• Operational guest service experience and guest service skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows products with adaptability to learn new technology
• Verbal and written communication skills, including conflict resolution, problem-solving and decision-making
• Ability to work fast paced large complex with multiple events
• Ability to hold self and others accountable, partnering, and networking skills
• Experience working independently and with teams
• Organizational, multi-tasking and time- management skills with attention to detail
• Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including weekends, variable shifts and holidays
• Understands scope beyond immediate area – will partner with other hotel departments including Signature Dining, Housekeeping, Front Desk, Bell & Valet, Spa, Engineering, Stores, etc.
• Collaborates and integrates through effective communication

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-2 Years of experience in a clerical support role
• High level Guest Service
• Prior experience working in a union environment
• Bilingual skills
