The West Vancouver Bylaw and Licensing Services Department is currently seeking a permanent full-time Bylaw Enforcement Officer to join our highly qualified team.
Reporting to the Manager of Bylaw & Licensing Services, t his is inspectional, regulatory, and investigative work related to the enforcement of municipal bylaws. The work involves extensive public relations contact which requires action with tact and diplomacy and is performed within policy, bylaws and regulation limits. The more difficult problems and policy matters are referred to a superior who reviews work performance for conformance to established policies and procedures and the effectiveness of enforcement operations.
The preferred candidate will possess post-secondary training in law enforcement, criminal justice or a related field. The preferred candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, sound experience and training with conducting investigations and with have experience with attending adjudication proceedings. Candidates with equivalent combinations of education, training and experience will be considered.
Please note the successful candidates must have a valid Class 5 BC driver’s licence with a driving record indicative of responsible driving habits.
The successful candidate will be required to supply a police information check and a copy of their credentials. All District of West Vancouver employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of hire.
