Company Overview:
This position is responsible for the effective and efficient handling of property, casualty, and physical damage claims that may consist of basic complexity &/or exposure, within the Agribusiness (AG) Operations. This includes providing exceptional customer service.
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Under close supervision and guidance responsible for claims management of an assigned caseload of low complexity and/or low exposure within guidelines of published performance standards.
- Opens new claims performs needed investigations to determine compensability as well as possible subrogation or apportionment, according to state and/or companies’ timeframes and guidelines.
- Consistently demonstrates technical proficiency and customer service excellence.
- Effectively and efficiently handles assignments within appropriate timelines.
- Handles claim duties and responsibilities by phone and correspondence.
- Consistently complies with State and Federal laws and regulations, company best practices, corporate values, and communications.
- Embraces ongoing training opportunities and self-development.
- Evaluates self-performance in accordance with established corporate standards and policies for performance appraisal.
- Strengthens operational performance within the claims department by recommending claims initiatives, efficient processes and procedures, and delivering exceptional claims service in response to customer needs.
- Works positively and harmoniously with others on a consistent basis, including Agency partnerships.
- Responds positively to direction and feedback regarding performance.
- Consistently maintains a professional and appropriate demeanor.
- Applies principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Skills and Requirements:
- High School Diploma Or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of training/experience required.
- 1+ Years of relevant customer service work experience. required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on telephone communication are required.
- Strong math and reading skills are required.
- Meets all state regulatory standards regarding licensing, continuing education, and other requirements.
- Competent with MS Office suite of products.
