TYPING TESTS ARE VALID FOR SIX MONTHS.

Incumbent works under the direction of the Health Information Management Supervisor or designee performing various clerical activities while following defined procedures and techniques.

As a Federal Contractor and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Health Center employees are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 upon employment.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two (2) years of experience as a Medical Secretary or Medical Transcriptionist required.*
• Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT) preferred.
• Ability to type 30 net words per minute.
• Completion of a pre-employment criminal records check and post-offer drug screen.

• Equivalent education and/or training beyond high school may be substituted for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis.

• The work schedule may vary (e.g. days, hours, overtime, and holidays).
• Work may be stressful when dealing with time constraints, competing priorities, and residents and families.
• Physical activity including extended periods of sitting and occasional standing, walking, lifting and carrying.
• Must have the ability to frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

• Visual abilities correctable to normal ranges include close, distance, and color vision depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Communication abilities include the ability to talk and hear within normal ranges.
• Must possess the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate computers and other equipment.
