Family Violence Kaimahi/Key Worker, Permanent Part Time or Full Time Position 

DOVE Hawke’s Bay is an organisation of passionate people committed to helping the whānau of our community develop and strengthen safe relationships without violence. 

We are seeking an empathetic, passionate, and caring individual to work with wāhine and tāne who come to Dove for support. 

Our kaimahi walk alongside whānau and provide space for our tangata whai ora (clients) to understand the dynamics of family violence through individual, couple, and group interventions.  Our interventions are trauma informed and invite our tangata whaiora to explore:

–  how experiences, beliefs, emotions, and lifestyle stressors contribute to family violence;

– how respectful relationship behaviours and emotional management strategies can contribute to overall whānau wellbeing and safe relationships.  

A professional registration is great, but not essential. 

We are looking for an individual with the following attributes: 

A strong work ethic and growth mindset

An understanding of trauma and how it impacts our most vulnerable whānau

Knowledge of Te Ao Māori and incorporation of tikanga in their practice

Facilitation skills – understanding of group dynamics and motivational interviewing 

Interview skills – understanding of therapeutic alliance and exceptional listening skills

Enjoys working as part of a dedicated team
