About you
We have an exciting opportunity for aSenior Administrative Specialistlocated inMidland, MI. You would provide general administrative support and office management to Dow’s North America Human Resources Leadership and their teams. You will work with a limited degree of supervision (with full authority of the supported leadership team) and will exercise considerable discretion and independent judgment in managing the day-to-day flow of work. You are a self-starter exhibiting good judgment and flexibility to adapt to priority/task changes. You are able to independently utilize tools and network to accomplish tasks. You have a strong technical base in administrative management systems and information. You can maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality. You have a passion for assisting others and work well in a team setting. You can build effective relationships, value diversity and relate well to different working styles.
Also, you can complete each of the following tasks:
Daily calendar management (prioritize and proactively resolve meeting requests and conflicts)
Discern and prioritize meeting importance with a high level of organization and consideration for the needs of the businesses, customers and key stakeholders within the company
Oversee the planning and logistics for leadership meetings and event arrangements (booking, logistics, catering, communications, etc.)
Provides a wide variety of administrative support to the North America Leadership Team within Human Resources, exercising confidentiality, tact and diplomacy
Prepares correspondence, communications, and responses to inquiries on behalf of supported leader(s) with limited oversight
Arranges domestic and international business travel, and tracks expenses that require a heightened level of detail
Create, submit and approve expense reports for leader and direct reports
Utilize good judgment to handle organizational requests/problems in leader’s absence or refer them to appropriate source
Coordinates and participates in special projects as assigned
May act as the department focal point with external vendors, contractors, or service providers
Uses business software applications and technology to prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agenda, minutes, etc.
Provides supervision and provides guidance and coaching to student staff
Required qualifications
Must be 18 years old or older
A minimum of a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
A minimum of 2 years of administrative experience
Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Must be willing to work overtime (extra hours beyond your regular scheduled) if required
Your preferred qualifications include:
An associate’s degree or higher
Familiarity with the following Dow tools: SharePoint, Ariba, Concur, Workday, Service Now, Diamond Systems, File Share Manager and Diamond Learning is an asset
Your skills, knowledge, and abilities include:
High level of professional integrity, ethics and trustworthiness
Ability to initiate on own with minimal to no supervision
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to teach and coach others how to use standard office equipment and software systems
Ability to cope with frequent changes and able to make independent decisions and problem solve
Ability to exercise discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive matters
Additional notes
A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process
