Job Summary:
Responsible for managing, directing and coordinating Gas Field Operations personnel and construction and maintenance activities to ensure the safe, reliable delivery of natural gas to customers in a cost effective manner. Responsible for construction, maintenance, installation, compliance, and operations of gas mains, services, house piping, system stations and district regulators and other gas facilities to maintain the integrity of the gas system. Responsible for collaborating with other departments, contractors, and individual customers to install and maintain the gas facilities in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations. This role is responsible for full lifecycle construction management for the geographical area it manages including the planning, forecasting and prioritization of the construction portfolio of work.
Responsibilities & Duties:
• Provides leadership and direction in accomplishing goals and strategies for Gas Operations in support of corporate goals.• Responsible for the safe and reliable maintenance and operation of Duke Energy’s natural gas system.• Directs, coordinates, and assists in staffing, training, development, evaluation and counseling of personnel within Gas Field Operations.• Prepares and manages operating budget for Gas Field Operations.• Develops and directs long-term and short-term strategies to accomplish goals and objectives while managing cost to meet regulatory requirements.• Coordinates and plans work with public officials, contractors, and builders.

Must have thorough knowledge of the gas feeder line and distribution systems.
Must display strong orientation for safety, customer service, communication and leadership.
Demonstrated ability to improve processes.
Demonstrated ability to plan, forecast, and prioritize large portfolios of work.
Highly proficient in the use of technology and information systems, such as Maximo, PowerBi, Word, and Excel etc.
Strong leadership, people, and analytical skills.
Able to work under tight timelines, meet deadlines, and perform in stressful conditions.
Knowledge of gas construction practices
Knowledge of the gas industry, the gas supply function and gas measurement methods.
Knowledge of the Company’s corporate financial/ accounting tools.
Flexible and adaptable to new technologies and establishing new processes.
Capable of leading in industry forums (AGA, KGA, OGA, etc)
Strong communication skills
Emergency planning skills
