RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides clerical support within the Family Economic Independence Division; provides telephone coverage, answers and/or routes client inquiries; updates customer information database; distributes departmental correspondence; courier, scan documents, compiles, manages and reports data;

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to operate standard office equipment are highly desired.
• Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a customer service focus are essential.
• Ability to deal effectively with the public is desired.
• Knowledge of spelling, punctuation and vocabulary.
• Ability to arrange and place records, reports, files and other documents into a defined sequence.
• Ability to screen and refer communications using defined procedures.
• Ability to use a variety of standard office equipment.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

High school graduation and one year of clerical work experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Candidates with bilingual skills preferred.
