Student Engagement Coordinator
College location: Cross College (East Surrey College and John Ruskin College)
Salary: £28,446 – £32,806 (Subject to skills, experience and qualifications)
Hours: Full time (37 hours/week 08:45-17:00 Monday – Friday

We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Student Engagement Coordinator to work in partnership with Student Support and Curriculum areas to develop the student engagement programme, including enrichment, health & wellbeing, student union and learner voice.
In this exciting role you will develop an integrated programme of enrichment health and wellbeing activity that engages all students across both Colleges for the full academic year. You will facilitate and encourage students leading and engaging in the programmes on offer and assist in the development and management of student councils and learner voice.
In addition to this, you will assist in the development of competitive and non-elite sports and co-ordination of the sports programme whilst completing Risk Assessment for all activities undertaken by students.
Working closely with the Head of Department and the rest of the team, you will have the chance to share your knowledge and skills with students to help them achieve at the highest level as well as driving continuous improvement within the College. You will act as a personal tutor, promote attendance, support students to attain suitable work placements, participate in team meetings and contribute to the planning, development and review activities within your subject area.

The successful candidate must have:

• Level 2 qualifications and skills in Maths, English or a willingness to gain these in the first year of accepting this post.
• Minimum of a level 3 qualification in a related area of expertise i.e. Youth Work, Mentoring, Mental Health Awareness, Sports Coaching
• Experience of working with young people aged from 14 years
• Proven experience of coordinating a programme of work
• Experience of undertaking risk assessments for activities completed by students
• Experience of working with coaches and teachers
