Do you have a passion for encouraging children to experience education outside the classroom? Do you have health and safety knowledge and understand risk management processes?

We have an exciting opportunity for an Outdoor Education Officer to work with our Outdoor Education Advisor assisting schools to enable their children and young people to learn outside the classroom in a safe environment.

The offsite education service provides advice, training and guidance to schools and children’s services teams on their outdoor education activities and offsite education visits. Your excellent attention to detail and knowledge of health and safety will be used to review trips, analyse risk assessments, and to prepare the visits for formal approval by our Outdoor Education Advisor.

We are looking for candidates who have:

• An interest in helping all children to access outdoor activities and offsite education in a safe environment.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and risk assessment techniques.
• Experience of working with children and young people and / or experience of school visits.
• The ability to analyse data.
• The ability to communicate effectively.

Additional Information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
