POSITION SUMMARY: Bass Pro is looking for an experienced Front-End Developer to join the Digital Creative Team. This role will guide translating design to actual code that will produce a visual site framework for promotional, brand, and special events. The Digital Creative team collaborates closely with marketing, product managers, and engineers to deliver engaging creativity. As a Front-End Developer, you will collaborate with Web designers, UX/UI designers, and additional Back-end developers to bridge the gap between design and technical implementation. You will assist in the front-end decision-making that will drive our company forward with new methods and technologies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Site Design 90%
- Collaborate with Web designers, Back-end developers, UX/UI teams in the development of digital creative
- Working within code HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js and within internal content management systems (CMS)
- Design markups/prototypes within the set brand aesthetic for a consistent look and feel
- Partner across multiple areas to see projects through staging production to live site
- Assist in the digital team’s preparation for internal creative reviews with Senior Creative Manger
- Translating the technical implementation of design to ensure optimization speed and scalability
- Keep current with ongoing digital trends and best practices Internal support 10%
- Supporting internal none consumer-facing site projects ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Degree Required : Bachelor’s Degree or related work experience required. Preferred Degree : Computer Science, Web Design & Development or related Experience : 3 to 5 years KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- Proficient working knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, React.js
- Experience collaborating with Web designers and UX/UI designers to ensure design quality
- Experience with responsive web design and best practices
- Experience with browser APIs, optimizing front end performance and management web applications
- Proficient understanding and working knowledge of a CMS applications
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient understanding of responsive front-end frameworks like Bootstrap
- Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, AEM, and Figma)
- Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
- Good understanding of SEO principles and how they apply to web applications
- Experience working within existing style guides and brand guidelines
- Ability to articulate and present ideas
- Ability to communicate effectively both spoken and written
- Ability to think creatively innovating new web solutions for desktop, mobile, and applications
- Must be able to take creative direction and receive feedback in a positive manner
