Edward-Elmhurst Health Hiring for Unit Specialist II- Adol Mill Street at Naperville, Illinois Full Time

The Unit Specialist II works with minimal supervision provides administrative support to unit managers and provides support to the nursing and the counseling staff by organizing group materials, handbooks and clinical materials according to unit specific needs. Completes clerical and clinical projects assigned by unit manager. Provides clerical support, including typing general correspondence, memoranda, forms and the like. Performs other related duties such as filing materials, posting information, greeting visitors and answering telephones. Performs direct clinical care to patients as directed by the charge nurse.

Education, Experience and/or Skills Required:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a Behavioral Health related field including a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services

• Maintain information as highly confidential

• The ability to maintain professional boundaries and willingness to seek supervision

• The ability to identify escalating behavior

• Proficiency in the use of personal computer software

• Time management and organizational skills

  Education, Experience and/or Skills Preferred:

• A minimum of 1-2 years of experience providing direct patient care in a psychiatric milieu

• Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology

• Skills in teaching or assisting with activities of daily living

• Prior experience with therapeutic limit-setting and milieu management

• Knowledge in Microsoft Office software

  License/Certification Required:

• Valid Illinois Driver’s License

• CPR and CPI certification is required within 90 days of employment and remains compliance per hospital policy
