Elecnor Australia Looking for Warehouse & Logistics Manager – Solar New Zealand at Te Aroha, Waikato, New Zealand Full Time

Elecnor New Zealand Limited is seeking an experienced Warehouse & Logistics Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of logistics and supply chain operations related to the construction, installation, and maintenance of power generation facilities in our Solar project in New Zealand. The Warehouse & Logistics Manager will coordinate materials, equipment, personnel, transportation, and suppliers to ensure the efficient execution of site activities.

The position requires excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage resources to meet project deadlines.

• Starting base salary of NZD100,000 to NZD130,000 on a 40-hour per week

THE ROLE

• Plan and oversee the transportation, delivery, and storage of materials and equipment for the solar site.
• Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimise inventory management, reduce delays, and minimise costs.
• Coordinate the movement of raw materials, tools, components, and finished solar products to and from the site.
• Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and third-party logistics providers.
• Ensure timely procurement and delivery of required materials, equipment, and parts.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure no shortages or surplus that could cause project delays or inefficiencies.
• Manage the transportation of materials to the site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, environmental laws, and logistical constraints.
• Oversee fleet operations, including vehicle and equipment maintenance, ensuring that all transportation logistics are aligned with project needs.
• Ensure that all required equipment and machinery are available, in good working order, and accessible on-site when needed.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment use, location, and condition, and ensure timely maintenance.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other key stakeholders to ensure that materials and logistics align with the project schedule.
• Provide regular updates and reports on logistics status, highlighting any potential risks or delays.
• Ensure that all logistics operations comply with site safety protocols, environmental regulations, and legal requirements.
• Implement best practices for handling hazardous materials, heavy equipment, and other sensitive logistics needs specific to solar power projects.
• Proactively identify potential logistical challenges or delays and develop solutions to mitigate these issues.
• Analyse and improve logistics processes for better performance, cost reduction, and scalability for future projects.
• Supervise logistics staff, including material handlers, drivers, and other logistics personnel.
• Provide training and mentorship to ensure adherence to safety protocols and efficient practices.
• Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment to meet project goals.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction warehousing, logistics, supply chain management, or a similar field is preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing logistics for large-scale projects.
• Ability to obtain a local Driver Licence.
• Ability to obtain a Construction Passport.
