Encadria Staffing Solutions has a temporary to hire opportunity for General Labor with Georgia Pacific at the Quanah, TX location.

Job Description

Georgia-Pacific is hiring General Labor for our ACMEfacility in Quanah, TX. As General Labor, you will be working in different areas of the mill to keep it clean. You will be sweeping, shoveling, and giving machine operators breaks when needed. This is a hands-on, entry-level job that truly gives you experience in every part of our mill. You will learn how to operate different lumber producing machinery with the expectation you can run them at production levels.

A Day in the Life Typically Includes:

This role creates value by performing various manual tasks, learning multiple technician functions, housekeeping duties, keeping the machinery free from debris, and maintains a clean work environment to meet the facility’s safety and production goals.

• Performing housekeeping functions to aid in keeping machinery functioning properly, reducing hazards and maintaining the appearance of the plant
• Contributing to a team environment by cross training and filling in for other operators during absences and breaks
• Completing and maintaining all daily inspections and downtime reports
• Creating a safe workspace by maintaining a cleanliness in assigned area
• Adhering to all safety, health, and plant rules, policies, procedures, and guidelines
• Performing manual, labor intensive, and repetitive tasks such as bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, and heavy lifting

Basic Qualifications:

· High School diploma or GED

· Six (6) months of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment

· Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, dusty, cold, greasy, and noisy industrial high-volume environment

· Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for at least 8 to 12 hours a day, shifts are 7 am to 7 pm, 7 pm to 7 am rotating days, and nights

· Willing and able to work in high and/or confined spaces

· Willing and able to wear the necessary Personal Protection equipment (PPE) (i.e. hard hats, safety glasses, face shield, chemical suit, respirator, ear plugs, hearing protection, steel-toe boots or safety shoes and other PPE required by specific jobs)

Job Type: Temp to Hire

Salary: $17.50 an hour
