Engineering Design Consultants Ltd Looking for Intermediate/Senior Structural Engineer at Christchurch Central, Canterbury Full Time

Engineering Design Consultants Ltd (EDC) is a multi-disciplined engineering consultancy providing clients with an innovative, reliable and friendly service with creative solutions ensuring a smooth pathway from conception to completion. EDC has offices in Christchurch, on Auckland’s North Shore and Whakatane in the Bay of Plenty, specialising in structural, civil, geotechnical, environmental, and fire engineering services.

EDC is looking for an Intermediate or Senior Structural Engineer based at their Christchurch office and reporting directly to the Structural Director. This role will take a lead in delivering a range of structural design projects, design work and site construction monitoring, with a key emphasis on coaching and mentoring our Structural Engineers. The growth of our people is important to us.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading and managing structural design projects, including financial performance
• Structural engineering design and documentation, including preparation of design briefs
• Supervision of draughting staff, and training and mentoring junior engineers
• Construction site monitoring, site inspections, investigations, testing and measuring
• Preparation of construction documents, site inspection reports, fee proposals and technical reports
• Continue to build relationships with our clients, delivering exceptional customer service across the business

A little more about you:

• Tertiary qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering, with professional experience based in New Zealand
• Chartered Professional Engineering (CPEng), or working towards professional registration
• The drive to succeed and grow your career, as well as those around you
• Ability to build lasting relationships with clients while leading projects
• Ability to prioritise conflicting demands in a fast-paced environment
• Previous experience with site inspections, construction monitoring and design modeling
• A great sense of humour, positive attitude, and a passion for what you do
