About the team
  
Through our tailored consulting services and capability building programmes, Ākina’s social procurement team works with government, corporates, social enterprises, and philanthropic organisations to help them embed social and environmental impact into their supply chain.
  
Ākina also supports and grows the impact sector in Aotearoa through the delivery of the Ākina Impact Supplier certification programme, helping organisations use their spending power for good.
  
About the role
As Account Manager, Social Procurement you will assist Ākina’s social procurement team with the day-to-day operations of the social procurement programme and impact supplier programme including business development activity and the delivery of support and services to Ākina’s certified impact suppliers.

You will:  

• nurture and grow existing client relationships with Ākina’s certified impact suppliers
• find, identify and onboard new impact suppliers and support them through our impact certification process
• ensure a sound process is followed and facilitate a smooth operation between buyers and sellers
• look after our tech products where this programme of work sits
• write case studies and provide support for communications.

About you
  
You will be already connected and passionate about impact, social enterprise and sustainability,  or have an eagerness and understanding that drives you to want to learn and be a part of the evolving social procurement sector in Aotearoa.
  
Values-driven and with strong Account/ Relationship Management skills you are someone who loves client interaction and will thrive networking, building relationships and developing new business as you become deeply connected in the impact and social enterprise sector.
  
You will bring:  

• a minimum of 4 years of work experience in an admin, client support or relationship management role.
• experience and a natural affinity for business development and building strong relationships.
• an entrepreneurial spirit and the self-motivation & confidence to ‘make things happen’.
• excellent organisation, collaboration and communication skills.
• strong people skills with the positivity needed to build great relationships with both our clients (large organisations, small social enterprises, community groups) and team.

Experience partnering with stakeholders from diverse environments and/or an understanding of Te Ao Māori would be advantageous. We are committed to our Te Tiriti O Waitangi journey and growing and deepening our cultural awareness.
