Job Summary/Purpose:
Responsible for providing overall guidance and direction to Metering Operations personnel which includes developing and/or implementing programs and strategies to improve employee safety, performance and managing the day-to-day activities of the organization to achieve established departmental goals. Other activities include working closely with other departments to ensure that cross functional processes are performing as designed.
Note: The job duties and responsibilities of this position will adhere to the to the locally established bargaining contracts, where applicable.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Champion safe work practices and ensure compliance to Entergy Safety Rules.
Must have a strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and accuracy in order to direct Metering Ops personal safely and to build/repair electric metering systems efficiently.
Operate packaged meter and recorder software applications.
Prepare service orders, multiplier sheets, and associated paperwork for transformer rated meters.
Respond to and resolve customer issues in a timely and professional manner along with mitigation of complaints
Provide leadership and training to Metering Ops personnel.
Work to ensure Metering Ops goals and objectives are met or exceeded.
Be able to manage all SO/SR/WR’s in Click Schedule/Maximo.
Assume active role in all transmission/substation metering including adhering to all CIP compliances.
Interface with Metering Ops personnel and Metering Ops Supervisors to ensure that jobs are completed to Entergy Metering specifications and conduct necessary follow-up to ensure regulatory and CIP compliances.
Provide AMI metering management and support for Metering Operations
Motivate and influence a diverse and geographically dispersed work force dealing with a wide variety of safety and training issues.
Assume Metering Ops Supervisor’s duties for a short time in their absence.
Operate and test metering software packages along with testing of new releases before distribution to metering group.
Participate in core process improvement teams as required.
Assist in storm restorations.
Assist with the following when required:
Install, maintain, and test all instrument transformer rated meters.
Test, verify and troubleshoot all System tie points.
Install and monitor all AMI metering applications.
Troubleshoot communications of remote metering.
Perform vector, load analysis and power factor tests on all metering installations.
Calculate meter constants on all types of installations
Minimum Knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:
Must complete the necessary training modules as set forth by the Safety and Training department. Must have a good safety record and possess a safe attitude.
Required to work safely and follow all Entergy safety policies and procedures. Ability to recognize hazards in the workplace and have the ability to mitigate the hazards.
Must have competent Mathematics and Trigonometry skills
Knowledge of basic electric circuit analysis, and vector/ phasor relationship.
Knowledge of meter terminology is mandatory.
Familiar with National Electrical Safety Codes and National Electrical Codes
Ability to work independently and with others.
Positive customer service attitude in dealing with internal and external customers.
Must be able to work in industrial and petrochemical plants.
Must be a self-starter, dependable, have the ability to plan and organize.
Must have good hand-eye coordination, color vision, visual acuity and physical dexterity.
Must be able to carry 80 pounds.
Ability to climb and work off of ladders of various heights
Demonstrate good effective communication skills including the ability to receive, understand, and transmit verbal communication with clarity

Ability to maintain and care for Company equipment properly and safeguard assets.

Must have competent computer skills such as operating Microsoft Windows, Office products, and the ability to learn and operate meter programming software.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Vo-Tech/Associate electrical/instrumentation degree or Metering School certifications
Minimum experience required of the position
6 years of utility field experience
Preferred: 6+ years of Field Metering or other electric metering experience
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position :
Valid driver’s license and good driving record
Must be able to obtain TWIC credential within 6 months of hiring
