Packaging and Purchasing Analyst

• This position provides high visibility for Direct Procurement financial planning and savings delivery as well as a unique opportunity to understand and influence external manufacturing partners
• Supports financial tracking process of Direct Procurement and COGS savings initiatives with follow-up to effective delivery and flow-through
• Effectively communicates with Procurement managers on the cost and savings trends, variance drivers, and actionable solutions
• Tracks project impacts and supports teams to ensure timely implementation and expected results are met
• Analyzes and forecasts risks and opportunities via net price variances (PPV), raw commodity trends, inventory adjustments, payment terms extensions, and lead time optimizations
• Supports low level materials costing across all manufacturing sites, ensuring the correct costs are captured and tracked
• Aides in efficient and effective Budget/FCST reviews highlighting KPI goals, risks, and opportunities (including FX)
• Works closely with the Procurement Managers to develop std lower level and third-party manufacturing costs coordinating efforts with Procurement and Operations Finance
• Prepares accurate PPV FCST processes, considering raw commodity trends, savings/inventory phasing, and global sourcing strategies
• Supports spend analytic tools development, taxonomy, and corrects spend classifications
• Continues developing and innovating financial processes and systems to improve reporting timings and data visibility
• Creates actionable reports that identify cost variances and opportunities
• Acts as a change agent, stays close to projects, and guides teams until successful implementation in close alignment with PMO, Operations Finance, and other pertinent business groups

Packaging Responsibilities

• Provide packaging procurement and operational support, as needed, to ensure timely production & delivery components to maintain finished good production
• Provide tactical vendor management, including quality and service metrics, coordination of quarterly business reviews, and ongoing maintenance of the account
• Provide in-depth analysis to support category management financials and business support
• Support business-related projects such as innovation and sustainable packaging
• This position is responsible for supporting packaging procurement by handling related operational procurement activities, as needed, and supporting the strategic efforts of the Category Manager
• The position will serve to support Strategic Procurement in the successful execution of NP/PDI’s overall business strategy while meeting or exceeding the Procurement Organizational performance goals related to Total
• Support Strategic Procurement Initiatives; RFQ’s, transitions, cost savings projects, business continuity
• Coordinates supplier qualification and trials
• Manage budget process and maintain current pricing
• Manage day to day responsibilities as it relates to packaging materials
• Special Projects as needed and all new product launches
• Works internally to ensure timely supply and, as needed, to address urgent supply concerns to prevent backorders/delays or quality issues
• Coordinates with vendors on any transitions, trials, or qualifications
• Support Strategic Procurement on all reports; feedstock, PPV, and category reports
• Manages vendor rating process and maintenance of the Vendor Scorecard
• Achieve zero disruption to supply chain
• Support Total Cost of Ownership – Savings via in-depth analysis
• Business Continuity Planning
