Veterinary Emergency + Referral Center of Hawaii (VERC) is an advanced 24-hour veterinary emergency and specialty hospital. Our dedicated board-certified specialists and highly-trained emergency professionals provide a collaborative approach to veterinary medicine. Supported by our modern, state-of-the-art facility and advanced diagnostic equipment including ultrasound, endoscopy, digital radiography, CT scan, MRI, fluoroscopy, and in-house laboratory, we offer the most comprehensive and progressive patient care on the Hawaiian Islands.
About the Role: This person will work primarily within the Neurology department. Primary duties will include the preparation and sterilization of surgical instrumentation, basic animal restraint, basic phlebotomy, taking radiographs, and scrubbing into sterile procedures, and assisting the neurologist in appointments.

The ability to work independently, but is also a team player and values a positive work environment
Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different communication styles
Knowledge in basic animal husbandry including handling and restraint
The ability to accurately carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
Work history demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills as well as a strong sense of personal accountability
Skills in handling several tasks and dealing with an environment of changing priorities
Previous experience in a boarding facility or veterinary hospital or similar is preferred, but not required.
