This is an entry level role and therefore would be suitable for individuals who haven’t previously worked in a scientific role.
The role holder will be responsible for examining items submitted as part of a ‘Scene of Crime’ case. These will be predominantly simple items such as blood swabs and items for cellular recovery. The role holder may also be involved in day-to-day laboratory maintenance and cleaning as well as scheduled servicing requirements.

Hours: 37.5 per week.
The role holder will be required to participate in an on-call rota as business needs dictate. The following hours apply:
Week 1: 8am – 4pm
Week 2: 10am – 6pm
1 in 8 Saturday working: 11am – 7pm (with immediate Monday off as lieu)
Due to the highly sensitive nature of the work, applicants should note that security clearance will be required for this role. To gain security clearance you must have at least five years’ continuous residency in the UK preceding an application. Criminal convictions may prevent you from gaining security clearance. In addition, successful applicants will be required to undertake drug and alcohol testing prior to commencing employment.
