Summary:
Facebook is seeking a leader for the Hardware Manufacturing Quality Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a multi-discipline team of Manufacturing Quality Engineers who work with Facebook’s global manufacturing partners to develop and implement world class manufacturing and quality processes in support of Facebook’s Open Compute hardware.
Required Skills:
Responsible for leading a team of Manufacturing Quality Engineers covering the areas of Compute, Storage, and Networking gear with a focus on server and rack level integration at key manufacturing partner sites.
Work closely with Hardware Engineering, Technical Program Management, Global Supply Chain, Data Center Teams, and ODM design & manufacturing partners to ensure Hardware is delivered on time, on budget, and meets FB quality & reliability requirements at scale.
Ability to drive continuous improvement both internally and externally in support of continued growth and scale.
Early engagement with manufacturing partners to influence roadmaps and capabilities.
Ensure product quality targets are met and improved at integration sites through a shift left test approach by leveraging global best practices and real time Data Center insights & feedback.
Drive supplier root cause and corrective action for failures at system & rack level integration and in the Data Center.
Collaborate with Data Centers to continuously reinforce quality standards and to improve the end-to-end process.
Partner with Product Quality Engineering and Supplier Quality Engineering team in support of new product introductions and approved mass production changes.
Work with product lifecycle tools in support of BOM creation, ECO validation, quality excursion management, and factory audits.
Participate in factory readiness audits and quality and business reviews.
Provide technical leadership and expertise within the Supply Chain teams during the entire product lifecycle.
20% International travel is required.
Minimum Qualifications:
BS, Electrical or Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience.
7+ years of hardware manufacturing quality management experience in a fast-paced technology environment.
Experience leading global teams and partnering with global outsourced manufacturing.
5+ years of experience in Quality Management as a people leader.
Knowledge of server and storage hardware architecture and technologies.
Experience with quality tools and methodologies in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Knowledge of industry technology trends and relevant technologies applicable to Facebook.
Problem solving and communication skills.
Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic global environment.
