About The Role
We are now looking to recruit two Student Advisors to join our Falmouth Online team. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation this role will be responsible for leading on the delivery of an outstanding student experience for students on Falmouth University’s online courses.
Falmouth’s online portfolio has grown significantly since its launch in 2016, with more than half of Falmouth’s postgraduate students studying online; the ambition is to continue this strong growth trajectory and ensure that Falmouth’s portfolio is positioned to reach new markets and meet evolving student needs.
The Student Advisor is key to providing an excellent student experience – you will be the first point of contact for non-academic student queries, responsible for providing advice and support directly to the student where appropriate and triaging/signposting where required. You will also support the Senior Student Advisor to establish and improve processes, collate student feedback and contribute to strategies for improving the student experience.
About You
The ideal candidate will have outstanding organisational and communication skills, and although experience working within higher education would be advantageous, if you’ve got recent and relevant experience of customer/client support we can support you to adapt your skills to our environment. We are looking for a positive, supportive and a flexible team player to provide effective advice and support for our students.
We are looking for candidates who have the following skills/experience:
- An understanding of the principles and practicalities of online learning.
- Strong working knowledge of a wide variety of computer systems and packages.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, active listening skills and ability to communicate effectively and confidentially, verbally and in writing.
- Able to work unsupervised and on own initiative as well as to work proactively as part of the team.

There are two positions offered on a permanent, part-time basis, working 17.5 hours or 28 hours a week across Monday to Friday, however, we are happy to discuss arrangements that would work for you at interview.
An on-campus weekly presence will be required for this role, however, we operate a hybrid flexible approach to working with the opportunity to work from home for part of the week.
