Job Description In this highly visible position, you will be accountable for executing the Internal Audit’s cross-business horizontal risk reviews, and being a valuable resource to senior leadership in accomplishing overall goals and objectives, as well as in strengthening internal controls.
The role reports to the Senior Director of the Internal Audit Risk Review and Methodology function. The function is accountable for various cross-business horizontal risk reviews for existing and emerging risk themes (e. g., third party, ESG, credit, and market), managing the relevant audits related to the risk themes, as well as evolving Internal Audit’s risk identification, assessment and reporting methodology.

The Senior Manager – Internal Audit, Risk Review and Methodology role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:
Responsible for the execution of audits in key risks across the enterprise and continuous risk monitoring strategy for various risk themes.
Define audit objective and audit scope appropriate for assessing internal controls and risk management practices, oversee audit fieldwork execution, communicate audit findings verbally and in writing, assess management’s remediation plans and review audit work papers inline with audit methodologies.
Motivate, influence, and develop audit staff, and work with members of the audit teams to execute the audit plan related to the risk themes.
Keep up with the latest development in key thematic risks related to the enterprise and emerging risks, and effectively communicate observed issues with audit management and senior business management.
Establish high impact relationships with key members of audit and business management.
Identify and share best practices and efficiency opportunities with business and functional units based on audits and continuous risk monitoring results.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of our risk assessment, monitoring and reporting methodology.
Qualifications THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Minimum Required Experience
6+ years’ of experience in audit, control, or risk roles and/or public accounting
Working experience in large multi-national financial institutions (e.g., SIFI) with detailed understanding of the policies, processes and risks within a wide variety of functional areas, and their impact on the business control environment
Minimum 3+ years team management experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desired Experience
Extensive technical acumen across internal audit and strong knowledge in risk management domains including, but not limited to ESG, third party, credit, market, compliance, people and operational risks
Knowledge of mortgage industry and relevant financial products
Experience in dealing with time sensitive enterprise-wide remediation projects and providing real time feedback on the remediation actions and progress
Understand how businesses operate in general; learn new methods and technologies easily
Strong understanding of and experience with internal controls and risk management practices in large financial institutions, focusing not only on controls but also on process improvement through the application of data analytics or other enhanced automation
Leadership Skills

Bring insight to stakeholders (including our regulators) through audit deliverables and real time feedback during governance meetings and ad hoc discussions. Demonstrate the ability to build trust and credibility.
Education and Other Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Management, Finance, Business or related major
CPA or MBA background strongly preferred
Specialized audit or risk management certifications are helpful
