Essential responsibilities and duties

Responsible to support production from incoming raw material to finished production to ensure the adherence to required quality and production standards.

The main missions of the role are to:
Main Duties/Activities:
Understand PPAP process and assist in gathering PPAP data

Conduct process & gage studies per QE direction

Collect and store daily production data as instructed

Work with QE’s to develop sorting criteria as needed

Completion of Quality Testing as required – Cut and Etch.

Act as QSE System Auditors/Mentors/Facilitators

Assist in driving the 7QB by interacting with production cells daily as a coach and developer.

Adheres to all work rules and procedures

Supplier Quality support: Investigate and create reports to suppliers including charge backs, create and submit scrap sheets, perform SAP transactions (returns, transfers), prepare suppliers defective parts for return/scrap.

Maintain Quality Cage Inventory log and 5S

Support and instruct 3rd party sorters as required

Manage gage certification / calibration system (including leak testers)

Perform part measurements using Faro arm

Follow all safety procedures in line with company policy.

Maintain good housekeeping standards in area and throughout the plant

Implement at least two improvement ideas per month

Additional Responsibilities include:
Gage training: Must be able to train operators in the proper use and interpretation of all gages in their assigned area.

Gage PM: Must be technically able to perform the QA level Gage PMs, and evaluate them for efficacy.

Receiving inspection: must be able to address Supplier Quality issues (incoming inspection process).

Quality alert processing: Must fully understand the quality alert process, and be able to reliably perform the QT elements of it.

Implementing containment: Must be able to act as a facilitator coordinating internal or external containments that effectively protect downstream processes from spills.

Supplier Quality support: Investigate and create reports to suppliers including charge backs, create and submit scrap sheets, perform SAP transactions (returns, transfers), prepare suppliers defective parts for return/scrap.

Able to assist in writing Quality instructions.

Participate in QRCI as needed

Work Instruction adherence audits

TQW audits

Assist in sourcing, repair and maintenance of lab equipment

All other duties assigned

Physical Requirements:
Requires pushing, pulling, reaching, standing, walking, gripping and bending, twisting, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds (full exhaust assemblies)

High mental and visual effort required

Able and willing to work overtime when required

Safety / Hazards:
Steel toe shoes, Safety glasses and Ear Protection required

May be exposed to flying objects such as weld slag and sparks

May be exposed to weld fumes and dust

Exposed to moderate burnes, cuts and bruises

Exposed to significant temperature changes in the facility – (heat in the summer / cold in the winter)

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have/be:
Minimum education level: ASQ Certified Quality Technician or diploma in related field preferred

Experience:
0 – 3 years of Experience in Automotive Quality Environment

Working knowledge of Metrology required and metallurgy lab equipment (microscope)

Working PC knowledge (spreadsheet, word processor, S.P.C. software, etc.)

Skills and competencies:
Knowledge of Statistics and ability to interpret SPC Data/Trends

Ability to follow instructions, both verbal and written, good math, language and reading skills

Welding experience and knowledge of weld defects

Ability to use hand tools and equipment such as band saw, plasma cutter, cut of saw

Ability to read blueprints/drawings including GD&T.

The ability to train others
