Finder
Role Overview:
Working closely with the product management, design and engineering team, you will be a subject matter and domain expert for the design, assembly, and testing of new technology, components, capabilities, and products that grow Finder’s capabilities.
You will help design and implement manual and automated testing on new and existing products, understanding conceptually what needs to be tested and how, and what doesn’t. You are a collaborative teammate with a positive outlook and strong communication skills. You are keen to learn new technologies, methodologies, coding languages and frameworks, to enable increased reliability and consistency across our platform. You want to be a driving force for quality and site improvements within the product and engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Create or contribute to test plans, estimates and priorities, and help coordinate testing activities
- Design, develop, execute and monitor automated tests
- Investigate systems and understand, explain and verify their expected behaviours
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to define appropriate acceptance criteria for new work and assist in the maintenance of documentation
- Help less-experienced QA engineers
- Assist in ensuring the quality of internal bug tickets bound for your team, and incident reports bound for the wider business
- Champion and embody great software engineering principles to deliver a better experience for our users, and creating an engaging technology-led engineering environment
Desired Experience and Skills:
- You must have approximately 2 years (or equivalent) experience with JavaScript, automated and exploratory testing, browser and mobile compatibility testing, and Git
- You should have similar experience with at least some of the following: Appium, Cypress, Selenium / WebdriverIO, Mocha / Jasmine, BDD, RESTful APIs, Node.js
- Bonus points for experience with:
- Agile development concepts and practices, especially in a startup culture
- Microservice architectures, especially service or contract testing
- Other forms of testing – unit, integration, security, performance, accessibility
- CI/CD environments and build pipelines
Nice to have:
- Experience working with an agile cross-disciplinary team of Developers, Product Managers, SMEs and Designers distributed across different timezones
- Experience working with teams using Java, NodeJS, React, PHP, SQL
