Description
Position Goals:
Provide human resources consultation and guidance for employees and managers regarding a variety of employee relations issues, including but not limited to performance management, progressive discipline, leaves of absence, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Create and enhance a positive employee experience by providing professional human resources support via a single point of entry case management system (MyHR) on matters related to internal policies, employee relations, performance, etc.
2. Support the Human Resources Business Partners; involves reviewing employment changes, organizational changes, salary changes, promotion and transfers, etc. to ensure consistent interpretation and application of policy, employment law.
3. Participate in the performance review process by providing written commentary on performance reviews prior to delivery to employee. Participate as needed during performance or disciplinary meetings, create and/or suggest performance improvement plans (PIP) where appropriate.
4. Provide guidance and direction to managers regarding coaching and progressive discipline.
5. Assist the Employee Relations Case Manager with investigating complaints.
6. Provide guidance to employees and managers related to leaves of absence.
7. Comply with federal, state, and local regulations and laws.
8. Research current and new legislation, enforce adherence to requirements and provide consultation to management on their responsibilities.
9. Create and maintain department procedures.
10. Participate in the development and facilitation of management training in-person and/or virtually.
Position Requirements:
Education – Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, management or related field of study OR Associate degree/two (2) years of college + two (2) years of related work/military experience OR four (4) years of related work/military experience (plus any additional required experience listed below).
Experience – A minimum of three (3) years of employee relations experience within a Human Resources role.
Other – Must be able to provide own transportation and travel frequently throughout the company’s geographic footprint to assist with investigations and employee relations management.
Preferred Requirements:
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) related experience (UKG preferred).
Experience with the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)Qualifications
