Fleetio Looking for Web Developer (Remote) at United States Full Time

Fleetio is looking for a Web Developer who is passionate about building websites that attract and convert. We are looking for someone who not only has front-end development abilities but also has a self-motivated creative spirit, strong collaborative DNA and focus on growth throughout the entire customer journey.

Reporting directly to the Manager of Brand Marketing, the Web Developer will be responsible for maintaining and implementing new web experiences on the Marketing website with the goal of creating high-converting landing pages and funnels and contributing to the growth and success of Fleetio.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a part of our growing Marketing Team, you’ll help to maintain our most important marketing asset, the marketing website. This means implementing new web experiences and building high converting landing pages across device types, testing new funnel workflows and ensuring brand consistency, all with a focus on customer acquisition. Requirements

Technical Skills

• 3+ years of successful web development experience, B2B SaaS is a huge plus!
• Technical expertise in the standard front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript/ES6+
• Ability to translate wireframes and design prototypes (Figma) into accurate, working code
• Familiarity with version control systems like Github
• Specific css skills/knowledge needed:
• Understand css display types – display types (block, inline, inline-block)
• Understand css positioning (absolute, relative, sticky, fixed, static)
• Understand how specificity, inheritance and the cascade work.
• Understand how Flexbox and Grid work (and when to use each one).
• Understand units of measurement (px, em, rem, %)
• Understand techniques for responsive design (media queries, etc)
• Tailwind experience is a nice-to-have, but with the knowledge above it’s not necessary
• Specific javascript skills/knowledge needed:
• Understand data types and structures (string, number, boolean, array and objects)
• Understand how functions work, difference between a function and a method
• Understand DOM manipulation and traversal
• Understand how events work, bubbling and propagation
• Understand newer additions to the language (ES6, arrow functions, async-await, spread operator, destructuring)
• Understand AJAX and the various ways of retrieving data
• Understand javascript modules
• Experience with React.js, and Next.js is a nice-to-have, but again with a solid javascript background it’s not necessary

Soft Skills

• Excellent organizational skills to work independently and efficiently, managing projects with many moving parts
• Exceptional collaboration skills to work with the marketing team and other teams to concept, iterate on and complete projects
• Personal interest in staying up-to-date on the latest trends and emerging best practices in the development community
