Global Accounting Services (GAS) is part of Global Service Operations (GSO) which is Fonterra’s shared service unit. It provides support to over 100 companies across the globe for Fonterra, which includes Capital and Lease accounting, Management and Financial accounting, Finance MD, Cash Management, Consolidation Accounting, Financial Statement delivery and delivery of global audit requirements

About the opportunity

In this fixed term contract till July 2022, you will undertake day to day accounting responsibilities for our manufacturing sites such as month end reporting, variance analysis, monthly forecasting and annual budget cycles. You will be able to build strong relationships, work closely with Commercial Managers and across the wider team.

Other key aspects of this role will include:

• Perform cost variance analysis and provide financial insights to the Commercial Manager
• Provide accurate & timely monthly management reporting for NZ manufacturing sites
• Month end reporting and variance analysis
• Monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes
• Solid problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and established communication skills are essential

About you

You will bring organisational agility and strong initiative to a close-knit team. You will be a strong communicator, with the ability to build relationships quickly. You can confidently manage conflicting priorities to showcase your strong problem-solving skills.

Other key success enablers include:

• Proficiency using multiple management information and large ERP systems, SAP would be advantageous, and solid excel skills
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills with an eye for continuous improvement
• Holding a recognised tertiary accounting qualification with a CA, CPA or similar membership
• Ability to multitask and deliver accurate data on time, within a fast-paced environment
