As a Software Engineer, you will be working in an Agile / Scrum environment with the support of a fulltime, assigned SCRUM Master and working on the development of new applications, enhancements, and also be responsible for maintenance. We are building/enhancing commercial grade SaaS web applications that will service an industry leader in the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) space.

The Role. . .

• Analysis of requirements and the design / development of solutions
• Proactively find and fix software bugs. Offer your feedback on ways to improve product(s) features, workflow, design, security, and coding patterns
• Feature development based on Engineering and Marketing requirements
• Contributing to an Agile team that solves complex challenges and builds working software
• Write clean, simple, efficient, modular, maintainable, and well documented code
• Continuously explore new technologies and best practices and bring those back to development management for review
• Debug, analyze, and resolve quality and certification issues as reported by Customers and QA
• Participates in design and architecture discussions, regularly proposes, and discusses solutions to systems and product changes that are directly related to the area of focus
• Works collaboratively with QA professionals to encourage defect prevention over detection
• Provide reasonable task and project cost/effort estimates
• Write detailed design notes for major driver changes
• Report status of activities to management and peers in a concise, timely and effective manner
• Coordinate closely with peers and colleagues from other teams to ensure timely and effective communication of all assigned work activities

The Ideal Candidate. . .

• 3+ years of experience in building and shipping production grade software or services is mandatory
• 3+ years of experience with an OO language (e.g., C++, C#, or Java) and/or JavaScript/TypeScript is mandatory
• Extensive SQL experience is mandatory
• Extensive experience in a high-volume Production Support environment is mandatory
• Experience with source code management tools, preferably Git
• Experience building highly scalable and reliable cloud services
• Experience with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, GCP Cloud Functions, etc.)
• Experience with TypeScript, front-end technologies like Angular/React
• Previous experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent or 5+ years of industry experience
• Must be available during non-business hours, as needed
• Strong business, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills
• Strong team player with the ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment
• Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and use independent judgment
• Excellent communication skills and team player
• Strong troubleshooting ability
