Our work depends on a Solutions Expert / Data Scientist Consultant joining our AI and Data Insights capabilities team to support the GDIT Office of Chief Technology Officer.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Develop effective and compelling briefings, proposal materials, reusable artifacts, and related materials for our customers, both internal and external.

• Coach and advise solution architects and solution teams

• Work with GDIT teams to help build data science competencies

• Plan and help execute prototyping and technical implementation efforts

• Evaluate emerging Data Science trends, tools, and services with a focus on AI

Your success in this role will directly impact GDIT’s technical capabilities across our divisions and fuel our growth. Your performance will be measured by the depth and breadth of technical impact you have on existing programs and in helping us to grow our business.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Education – Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

• 15+ years of relevant experience – 5 years of data science experience; 2 years in Cloud

• Security clearance level – Ability to attain Public Trust and/or DoD Secret

Technical skills:

• Ability to translate customer requirements and objectives into AI solutions and strategies

• AI Expertise using Deep Learning Frameworks, Analyst Notebooks, and Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing Packages (Python, Spark, R)

• Experience with COTS, Open Source, and Cloud-Native data science tools

• Experience integrating, transforming, analyzing, and visualizing large data sets

• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and collaborate on teams

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience developing and scaling engineering solutions for both structured and unstructured data

• Experience with Data Lakes and NoSQL data repositories

• Experience with Hadoop or Spark big data frameworks including Open-Source and Commercial distributions (Databricks, Cloudera/Hortonworks) and Cloud-based services (AWS EMR, Azure HD Insight)
