We are GDIT. The people supporting and securing some of the most complex government, defense, and intelligence projects across the country. GDIT is seeking a Kafka engineer to deploy Confluent architecture to a large Federal Financial Security organization.

The role requires 5-7 years of software/system development. The position duties include:

• Execute approach suited for data movement to/from different sources using Apache/Confluent Kafka based on Lead Developer architectural design

• Conduct identification, isolation, resolution, and communication of problems within the production environment.

• Provide hands on experience working on Kafka connect using schema registry in a very high-volume environment.

• Develop and Deploy Kafka broker

• Develop and deploy Converters (Avro/JSON) and Kafka connectors.

• Provide expertise and hands on experience on custom connectors using the Kafka core concepts and API.

• Create topics, setup redundancy cluster, deploy monitoring tools, alerts and has good knowledge of best practices.

• Ability to perform data related benchmarking, performance analysis and tuning

• Engineering and deploying Kafka (using Confluent architecture) for data streams, securing configuration, network and AD integration.

• Sound knowledge with authorization and authentication approaches using RBAC, mTLS

• Proficient in replication services across multiple data centers.

• Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures. Experience in formulating policy, and developing and implementing new technology, strategies and procedures.

• A detailed understanding of all phases of the software lifecycle, large-scale web applications, and Internet theory and practice.

DESIRED SKILLS :

• Experience with Hadoop, MapR, Spark, ElasticSearch, Kibana or like services.

• Experience with Splunk

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Visio
