Job Description Summary

The Software Engineering & Design Digital Thread Engineer will work with the OneWind team and Software Product Owners across the engineering organization to help develop world class digital engineering tools and design the digital thread of connected tools and processes. Currently, this suite of tools includes tools for (1) optimizing customer wind farm value and turbine layouts, (2) automating and connecting engineering tools for speed in customer proposals and consolidating digital tools for wind turbine/farm simulations, loads evaluation and simulation configuration management.

Job Description

The OneWind Digital Thread Engineer will work with the OneWind team and Product Owners across the organization to help drive the vision and execution for the OneWind suite of tools. Currently, this suite of tools includes WindSELECT, WindSTUDIO, GE Optimizer, WRA Suite, SDM, component Tools and Configurator.

Essential Responsibilities

• Execute on Scrum Team to program state of the art solutions to solve engineering problems for Wind Turbine Design and Analysis and manage all AWS aspects of SDM application

• Develop and execute multi generation product plans for OneWind tools

• Help lead OneWind programs in terms of development, processes and documentation.

• Work with all organizations developing or using the OneWind suite, including but not limited to, Engineering, Product Development, Regional Sales, Commercial Operations, and Digital Technology

• Identify users and customers of the tool and fully understand both their short and long-term requirements to help drive adoption of OneWind tools when release criteria have been met.

• Capture business value that show the cycle time reductions and optimization benefits associated with OneWind suite of tools.

• Mentor and coach team working in OneWind with best practices on Software Development for Engineering Tools.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university

• Minimum 8 years engineering/software or digital experience or equivalent

• Minimum 3 years of experience in implementing and managing software development projects/infrastructure

• Minimum 1 year involvement with Agile or Other Software Management techniques.

• Minimum 1 year managing AWS technologies

Desired Characteristics:

• Strong AWS experience managing cloud infrastructure

• Excellent Communication & Support Skills

• Strong Kotlin and Java experience

• Experience in Wind turbine engineering

• Proficient in software engineering and development cycle.

• Demonstrates the ability to lead and influence across organizations

• Self-motivated with personal and project management skills
