General Motors Hiring for UX/UI Designer Job at Limerick , Ireland Full Time

This is a Hybrid position within our IT Organization. The role will allow employees to work offsite but will also require onsite work based on business needs. The selected candidate will be expected to commute to the innovation center to which they are assigned as their primary GM facility. This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-3 times per week. Relocation may be provided.

For all external applicants, we are targeting a start date on or after January 10th 2022 for this position

Overview

For this role within General Motors, you are responsible for design and usability during the development lifecycle for multiple projects and programs. You will work alongside product management, fellow design team members, development, and business stakeholders to collaborate and drive a user-centered design approach.

This role embodies a passionate, creative, yet pragmatic design doer that can empathize with customer needs and behaviors, identify opportunities, and successfully transform requirements into intuitive and elegant solutions.

Design and deliver outcomes that elegantly and intuitively answers the needs of our customers or facilitates an experiment while also supporting business objectives. Passion for great design, purposeful aesthetic sense, an eye for detail and a demonstrated understanding of typography, color, layout

Qualifications

• Deep appreciation and talent for generating simple solutions to complex problems
• Strong understanding of user experience and user-centered design approaches
• Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in order to meet milestones and deadlines
• Aptitude for communicating design ideas persuasively and concisely both “up” and “across” an organization
• Experience working cross-team and synthesizing feedback and input from product management, engineering, and marketing
• At least 3 years with tools of the trade, e.g. Affinity Design, Balsamiq, Adobe XD
• Exposure to user testing scenarios
• Design Portfolio of work with roles and responsibilities tied to work defined
